The Rocklin Ward Generosity and Service.

It is truly a blessing to be members of a world-wide family that is exactly the same wherever you go! After Angie and Casey arrived in California, the stress of the journey and situation was becoming hard to bear. We were able to get in contact with the Bishop of the LDS ward in Rocklin, who was able to send a counselor and another elder to administer priesthood blessings to those seeking comfort.

The concern the members had for our family was incredible. "What are you doing for food? Can we bring you meals?" "Do the kids have Christmas?" "What can we do to help?" And wow did they help! Day after day, members eager to help began bringing home cooked meals, gift cards to help pay for expenses like gas and food. Families offered their homes for Casey's parents to stay. We felt so much love from the members. We felt that they were willing to do anything for us.

One night during our stay in California, the doorbell rang furiously. When we opened the door, no one was in sight (except maybe a speeding minivan). To our surprise, the door was littered with paper snowflakes. “We’ve been snowflaked!!” we exclaimed. Along with the snowflakes, were neatly wrapped presents marked for Max and Tenley. The kids were ecstatic.

It’s amazing to feel the love that our Heavenly Father has for us, especially when it comes to us by the service of others. The members of the Rocklin ward impressed us greatly with their love, generosity and service. Rachel, the compassionate service coordinator, emailed ward members on Sunday asking for help with dinners. By Monday the dinner slots were all filled and others were still asking how they could help.

We couldn't have had a better Christmas away from home given the circumstances if it weren’t for family, friends, and our loving members of the Rocklin Ward. Thank you ALL for the love and support.
